The Brass Tacks:
World Weaver Press is an independently owned and operated publisher of fantasy, paranormal, and science fiction based in Alpena, Michigan.
Our titles can be purchased in paperback and ebook editions through Amazon, BarnesandNoble.com, Kobo, OmniLit, and other digital and print distributors of books, as well as through WorldWeaverPress.com. Ask your local Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, or Independent Bookseller (IndieBound) to carry copies.
We accept unsolicited queries during February, June, and September.
What We Believe In:
We believe that publishing speculative fiction isn’t just printing words on the page — it’s the act of weaving brand new worlds.
We believe in great storytelling. We believe in challenging genre boundaries and engaging the fundamental human drive to tell stories that resonate emotionally. The way we do this is by partnering with great writers to craft and edit the best fantasy, paranormal, and science fiction stories possible. By creating beautiful, well designed paperbacks and ebooks. By growing their publicity. And by fostering a family of authors and editors excited to work with us.
For more about our philosophy on where we stand in the world of publishing, see our posts on "Bridging the gap" and "Time to go pro."
In 2011, we started laying the groundwork for our independent publishing house, World Weaver Press, and in 2015 we will outgrow the industry title of "small press" to become a mid-size press publishing more than 10 new titles per year. In the beginning, we were two women combining skill sets in editing/publishing and the go-get-em attitude of a NYC publicist, with the shared love of reading fiction, and a life-long passion for speculative fiction.
We're inordinately proud of all we've accomplished with World Weaver, the authors and anthologists we've worked with, and the novels, novellas, anthologies, and short collections we continue to release, and the fabulous staff we've picked up along the way. We're a small operation with a personal touch, but one that dreams big and uses digital technologies to distribute around the world.
In 2014, we launched our first imprint, Red Moon Romance.
